Canada here we come! We leave bright and early tomorrow morning for home. We’ll be home in Edmonton till August 13th and then we’ve got to hit the road so we can hit the books again on August 22nd. We’re sure excited to be home with friends and family. We desperately miss the outdoors and can’t wait to go hiking, canoeing, swimming, biking and camping. The other night while enjoying a lovely warm evening walk Steve reminded me of the mosquitoes back home…those little blood-suckers are one thing I am not looking forward to!
We also found a place to live for the summer in Edmonton. We’re going to stay on the Taylor Seminary campus in a little studio apartment. The entire size of it (bathroom, kitchenette and bedroom) is probably about the size of our current living room. Not really what we dreamed of, but we’re kind of excited for an adventure! Plus one day when our kids complain about sharing bedrooms or whatnot, we’ll just pull out the pictures from summer 2011 and challenge them to be thankful! Or perhaps God is preparing us to be more flexible with our living arrangements…you never know where He’ll lead us. Mud hut? Maybe! The campus is very close to one of the huge parks that connect with the river valley which was the deal maker for us. Gotta get our nature in! The location also helps simplify the 1 vehicle situation since my internship is only a short walk across campus.
Here are some of our prayer requests:
· Safety and sanity on the 30+ hour drive home
· A refreshing visit with our friends and family
· That God will use us in mighty ways to minister to others this summer
· That we would be wise with our time and take some much needed rest and relaxation
· That God would continue to grow us in our walks with Him
· That God would continue to grow and strengthen our marriage
Thank-you all for your love, prayers and support. Thanks to all our Moody friends that have made this year so fun and eventful for us-we will miss you this summer.
We will get pay-as-you-go cell phones for the summer. Once we know our #’s we’ll post them on facebook.
