Last Leg

Steve has begun his last leg of his education here at Moody after having a relaxing Spring Break.  He only has about 7 weeks left of school and will graduate on May 18th.  In February I finished classes at Le Cordon Bleu.  Now I work four days a week nannying two boys, 3 yrs old and 4 months.  I’ve also started to blog a little at www.springlovedelights.com (feel free to check it out).  It is hard to believe that our time in Chicago is almost through!  We plan to move back to Edmonton mid to late June.  We’ve been looking for places to rent but haven’t found what we’re looking for yet.

This week we look towards Christ, His death and resurrection.  We are thankful for our salvation in Him and look forward to celebrating His resurrection this Sunday.  We are also thankful that God has sustained and blessed us in all sorts of ways during our 3 and a half years here in Chicago.  We have grown immensely in our relationships with Christ, and in crazy good ways in our marriage.  We have also grown in the knowledge of God’s heart for people and how He has wired us to be a part of His work.  We are thankful that Steve’s computer tech business, Walk-Through Tech has continued to grow while we've been in Chicago.  We are also thankful for all the prayers and support that those back home have offered.  The long-distance phone calls, visits, care packages, financial support, and letters that our friends and family have spent the time to send have meant a lot to us.  When you’re far from home the little things like that mean a lot.  So, thank-you!  You know who you are!

Please thank the Lord with us for His amazing faithfulness!  And please join with us as we pray for these requests also:
-to finish well in Chicago
-to find an affordable place to rent back home
-for Walk-Through Tech to continue to grow enough to support Steve working fulltime
-to find a great church we can call our own in Edmonton
-our adjustment to moving and transition back into Canadian culture with minimal reverse culture shock (it happens)
-Steve’s 6 week+ internship in Asia that is planned for 2014

Love,
Laura.**--for Steve and I.

P.S.  Thank-you to everyone who prayed for us as we shared in the Fall with the marrieds here at Moody what we learned about conflict (see previous post).  It went very well and had many good conversations with couples.  We also found we worked well together (!) and it was very good for us to do as a couple.  We hope God gives us more opportunities like it!
